The City of Lacey is matching Puget Sound Energy’s (PSE) $4,000 fuel-switching rebate. The City will provide a one-time match for Lacey residents who participate in PSE’s Fuel Switching Heat Pump Program.
The City has limited funds, and this program will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
What is the PSE Fuel Switching Heat Pump Program?
This program is an income-qualified rebate program through PSE to encourage PSE natural gas customers to switch to electric heating and cooling by installing a heat pump in their homes. The program offers a one-time rebate of $4,000, and the City will match the rebate for a total of $8,000 for qualified customers.
Do I qualify?
In order to qualify you must meet these requirements.
You must be a current, PSE single-family residential natural gas customer. Single-family new construction, multifamily (five or more detached units) and commercial accounts are not eligible.
Your current primary heating system* must be fueled by natural gas. This includes natural gas forced-air furnaces, boilers, and gas wall heaters.
Customers with existing electric resistance or hybrid heat pump heating/cooling systems are not eligible.

Additionally to qualify for the Lacey matching rebate please ensure:
You live within Lacey city Limits. Please check here. Customers who live in Lacey-Urban Growth Area (Lacey-UGA) do NOT qualify.
Equipment must be installed between October 20, 2025 – December 12, 2025 in order to qualify for the matching rebate.
Your PSE application has been submitted by Friday, December 19, 2025.

There is no additional application for the Lacey match; the matching rebate will be automatically applied to customers who meet the requirements.
Please note this is a first-come, first-served program with limited funds. The city of Lacey cannot guarantee matching rebates will be available at the time of application submittal.
